Το 1926 ο Ευάγγελος Σταματίου ιδρύει το πρώτο κέντρο Ορθοπεδικής Τεχνολογίας στη χώρα μας με την επωνυμία: Ορθοπεδικός Επιστημονικός οίκος Ε. Σταματίου, με έδρα στην Αθήνα την οδό Βερανζέρου 23.

In 1950, the privately owned factory is inaugurated with the distinctive title Orthopaedic Institution of Greece which simultaneously meets the needs of war-disabled individuals.
After a worldwide recognition, amongst the famous personalities that visit the institution, the distinguished American Inventor of orthopaedic instruments, describes the project as a pioneering one.
Το 1958 ο ιδρυτής έκανε μετεκπαιδευτικό ταξίδι στην Αμερική προκειμένου να αποκτήσει εμπειρία και να εκπαιδευτεί επί της νέας τεχνικής της εποχής. Αυτή αφορούσε τον κηδεμόνα MILWAYKEE και χαρακτηρίστηκε ως η καλύτερη θεραπευτική αγωγή η οποία χρησιμοποιείται ακόμα και σήμερα.
In 1968 his son Stamatis Stamatiou undertakes research and production technology in order to improve scoliosis-kyphosis and fractures of Spine devices. After having a post-education in Great Britain, he works as a special prosthetics and orthotics at the Hangger rehabilitation centre in England. Passing to the third generation, after a continuous education and updating in 2013 becomes the President of Athens Orthopaedics.
